Healthy 2-Ingredient Ice Cream Flavors

Summer is almost here! As the weather begins warming up, it gets harder to resist an enticing and refreshing scoop of your favorite ice cream. Lucky for you, there's a healthy alternative! Take a pass on the excess fat and sugar in conventional ice cream and satisfy your sweet tooth with these delicious, easy-to-make frozen treats. 

All you need to make your own healthy, homemade ice cream flavors are 2 ingredients. Yes, you read that right - only 2 ingredients! Start by slicing and freezing one ripe banana. Using a banana as the base provides natural sweetness to curb your cravings, while also providing a healthy dose of fiber, potassium, and Vitamin B6. 

The second ingredient is completely up to you! You can add fruit, nuts, dark chocolate, or herbs and spices to create your perfect flavor. Blend it all together and enjoy immediately as soft serve. You can also freeze for at least 1 hour to make firmer ice cream. 

 

Strawberry Ice Cream: 1 banana + 1/2 cup strawberries

129 calories - 0 g fat - 33 g carbs - 2 g protein

 

 

Chocolate Ice Cream: 1 banana + 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

125 calories - 1 g fat - 29 g carbs - 2 g protein

 

 

Peanut Butter Ice Cream: 1 banana + 1 tbsp peanut butter

200 calories - 8 g fat - 31 g carbohydrates - 6 g protein
